Committee Work

Time Talent Treasures

Please consider offering your time and talents to St. Michael.

We need you.

Are you looking for a way to share your treasures of time and talent with St. Michael’s?  If so, we are in search of individuals who would be interested in joining various committees here at St. Michael’s.

LITURGY:  All liturgies require volunteers present to Set-up, Greet, and Clean (disinfect) as part of the Re-Opening plan set forth by the Archdiocese of Chicago.. We will always be accepting new volunteers, especially as the number attending liturgies and those present increases. If you are interested in helping, please call the Parish Office (312-642-2498) or email and we will connect you with the team leader. Thank you!

PARISH FINANCE COUNCIL: The finance council is a requirement of canon law.  The purpose of the council is to assist and advise the pastor in the stewardship of the parish.  We are looking for 2 or 3 individuals who would be willing to join the council.  Time commitment – generally one meeting a month usually on Tuesday evenings.  Experience – if you have a financial background that would be great, but we are also looking parishioners who can understand basic finances and can provide sound recommendations to Fr. Sanders in his role as pastor and the stewardship of the parish.

BUILDING AND MAINTENANCE COMMITTEE: This is a subcommittee of the Parish Finance Council.  The committee assists, advises, and recommends to Father Sanders on the upkeep of the parish buildings.  As you know maintaining a historical church is an undertaking and a half.  We need people in the trades, general contractors or any parishioner who has an interest in assisting in this endeavor

HISTORICAL COMMITTEE: Father Sanders would like to resurrect the Historical Committee first started by Father Santa 5 years ago.  This committee would help establish a not-for-profit “Friends of St. Michael’s Foundation” to help raise critical funds for the parish upcoming capital projects, i.e., the bell tower, replacing the roof, painting of the interior of the church, restoration of the altars.  Having this foundation, we will be able to write grants and lobby for donations from those organizations who are interested in maintaining a historical building or may give to a “non-religious” organization.  The initial work that Father Santa and the initial committee began will be used for the endeavor.  If you were on the original committee and would like to help resurrect this project or are new to the parish and would like to work on this project, you will be welcomed with open arms.

If you have any further questions, please email (, or call 312-642-2498 and talk to Pat Krier in the office.  Please consider joining us on one of these committees.
