Did you know that Chicago Public Schools are starting the 2022-2023 school year two weeks early? Because of this, we need to start the school supplies drive earlier.
The Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) is the lay advisory body to the Pastor of St. Michael. The members of the PPC represent the needs, hopes, and desires of the entire Parish. The PPC works with the Pastor to encourage full participation and engagement of all parishioners in the parish life of St. Michael. The PPC supports each of the lay organizations of St. Michael. We have recently added many new members of the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) at St. Michael.
On the weekend of April 23/24, the Little Sisters of the Poor visited our Parish to share their vocation of hospitality to the elderly. St. Mary’s Home in Chicago is one of 167 Homes for the elderly poor operated by the Little Sisters in 31 countries around the world.
St. Michael Parishioners were extremely generous during this Lenten Season. In 2019, 1500 items of non-perishable foods were collected. In 2022, over 2000 items were collected as well as over $900 to be donated to Catholic Charities.
